Tom Hanks is taking his ball and going home mad. He's moving to France. Like Clooney. Hanks is blaming Trump for Hollywood's downfall, when the real reason is Hollywood hasn't produced an authentic, original movie in years.
But like Clooney, Rosie O'Donnell and DeNiro, it's easier to blame Trump than to look at themselves as the problem. They should keep their big mouths shut. Or, if they want to speak, be respectful of the president of this country. It's what good people do.
DeNiro was beloved. Rosie had a good run with her talk show. Clooney was good in ER. Hanks in Forrest Gump. But unlike Johnny Carson and Dolly Parton, they couldn't keep their noses out of politics. And they don't know how unpleasant Americans thought they were.
And when it comes to being Elites, Meryl Streep doesn't even know how insulting she is when she claims women cannot vote if they're forced to show ID, because they changed their names when they got married and don't know how to fix the situation.
She went on Colbert to say this in opposition to the ID bill in Congress. Another reason Hollywood's hanging on the ropes.
Hang tough.
