Slogans are great. “Good to the very last drop…” “One if by land, two if by sea.”
They work. To sell coffee. To save colonial lives in danger from attack by the Redcoats.
But when Democrats have a slogan, it’s just to…have a slogan. It doesn’t mean anything.
Like, “No one is above the law.”
We all know that’s a lie. As Kamala would say, we didn’t fall out of a coconut tree.
“Not above the law” depends on the law, and who the perp is.
If the law’s about stealing and lying, and the perp’s a Democrat, it means you aren’t above the law, but they are.
Take New York Attorney General Letitia James.
She has made revenge against Trump her life’s mission, using the law and her office to practice her brand of law. But now the political shoe is on the other foot.
Letitia is being investigated by the Feds.
In a criminal referral sent to the Department of Justice by the Federal Housing Finance Agency, James has been accused of falsifying mortgage documents to get favorable loan terms.
She claimed a house in Norfolk, Virginia was her principle residence. She misrepresented the number of units in a property in Brooklyn. And she listed her father as a “spouse” to get a favorable interest rate.
She responded by doing what every Democrat does. Shouting. Denying. And claiming she’s a target.
Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis did it. And so did New York Mayor Adams, Newark New Jersey Mayor Baraka and Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ), both of whom stormed the ICE detention facility in Newark last week.
McIver’s red-clad belly was seen on bodycam, body slamming an ICE agent, but she denied any wrongdoing.
“Yesterday at Delaney Hall I witnessed firsthand the chaos and cruelty that defines the Trump administration’s immigration policy,” she said.
“We went to conduct lawful, congressional oversight. We were met with contempt, disrespect and aggression from ICE.
“From roughing up members of Congress, to arresting the mayor of our state’s largest city, there is no version of today that does not show the blatant abuses of power of the Trump administration.
“Americans should be outraged – democracy demands transparency, not fear and force. No agency and no administration should be allowed to operate in darkness.”
She’s a liar. And so is Letitia James.
As Shakespeare said, their words are “A tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.”
In a YouTube interview, James angrily declared “Trump is on a revenge tour, and he’s just up to the J’s.”
In an interview with Spectrum News, she said, “It is nothing more than a headline.
“Nothing more than retaliation against all of the actions that I have taken successfully against Donald Trump.”
“I will not bow, I will not bend, I will not break,” she shouted, acting as if she were Nelson Mandela.
But unfortunately for New York taxpayers, it looks like they are going to have to pick up the tab for her legal fees!
Yup. There’s an item about that in the state budget.
Maybe that’s what Letitia meant when, ranting about her mortgage shenanigans, she told New Yorkers, “We’re in this together.”
Huh?
Letitia James is in shock. Democrats never like it when they get caught with their pants down.
She never thought that one day, the slogan she and Democrats say so easily and so frequently, would actually be true.
For her.
That, in America, “No one is above the law.”
Not even Attorney General Letitia James.
Hold the line, America.
