“Remember, when you are dead, you do not know you are dead. It is only painful for others. The same applies when you are stupid.” Ricky Gervais

If, as an American taxpayer, you are upset at how stupid Rep. Ocasio-Cortez looked in her recent appearance at the Munich Security Conference in Germany, don’t be.
Not even if you’re scratching your head as to why she was there in the first place.
The fact is, AOC’s been this way for a long time. By that I mean stupid. And this isn’t the first time she’s looked foolish.
AOC hasn’t changed.
In September 2018, after her primary win, CNN’s Jake Tapper asked her to explain how she would pay for her progressive policies, which included Medicare for all, and tuition free college.
She couldn’t answer. CNN called it “The $40 Trillion Dollar Question,” which was how much her “free” programs would cost taxpayers.
Fast forward to the Munich Security Conference. There she couldn’t answer the question posed to her about the U.S.’s position on defending Taiwan.
She stammered for an embarrassing amount of time, while the audience waited with bated breath for her answer, an answer which was embarrassing for all of us.
As New York Post’s Rick Lawry observed, “She sounds as if she watched the 2024 Kamala Harris campaign, and concluded that what sank the vice president, was that the candidate’s policy answers were much too substantive and precise.”
Now any average America Joe, I don’t mean Joe Biden, any average Joe could probably come up with something about Taiwan.
Something like, “China wants to invade it, and that’s not nice.” Or, “Gosh! That Chiang Kai-shek was a heck of a guy.” Stuff like that.
A quick Google search would have told Sandy Ocasio-Cortez that Chiang Kai-shek was a nationalist leader of China. He fought with the Allies during World War II, and fled to Taiwan when Chairman Mao and Communism took over.
And that he was a heck of a guy.
AOC has a job in Congress that entails being intellectually informed, or at least curious.
But neither she, nor Rep. Jasmine Crockett, bother to do basic research to be informed and accurate, while spending a lot of time on social media.
(Although, to be fair, AOC’s online chili recipe is delicious.)
AOC and Crockett could have been spared embarrassment if they’d simply used Google.
Crockett wouldn’t have accused EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin of taking contributions from “Jeffrey Epstein,” when it turned out it was the wrong Jeffrey Epstein.
Oops.
And AOC could have brushed up on her Geography. Economics. U.S. foreign policy.
After all, this is a gal was graduated Cum Laude from Boston College with – wait for it – a degree in International Relations and Economics!
There was no mention of a degree in Geography.
And speaking of geography, no one is talking about it, but the real maligned party here is President Nicolas Maduro.
Not only did this fella’ endure the humiliation of being hauled out of his bed, and carted off to jail in the U.S. He had to hear AOC further insult him by defending him.
“We look at what happened in Venezuela, for example,” AOC sputtered angrily at the Munich Security Conference. “We cannot engage in acts of war just because the nation is below the equator.”
Uh. Okay.
There’s a saying that we get the government we deserve.
In New York, the voters thought Mamdani would make a swell mayor, if they thought at all. And they voted for him.
Now Mamdani, a Socialist/Communist like AOC, is faced with the question, “How you gonna’ pay for all this free stuff, buddy?”
Like Sandy, Mamdani didn’t answer the question when he was running. But after he was elected, he did.
Yesterday he told New Yorkers, “You’re going to pay for your freebies. And we’re doing it by raising your property taxes. Until and unless Gov. Hochul raises taxes on the rich.”
Gasp!
She endorsed him. He threatened her.
That’s cold! But when you come right down to it, it’s true. There’s no such thing as a free lunch. And we do get the government we deserve
Hold the line, America.
Stay strong, Patriots.
