Ozzy Osbourne was laid to rest today in his home town of Birmingham, England. You might wonder why I am writing about him. Well. I like him. He was a very nice man. He was kind and smart. People lead checkered lives, even the saints in the Bible, and his was no exception. But Ozzy redefined himself in a way that was uplifting.  Although he suffered from debilitating neck injuries, and had Parkinson's disease, he left a legacy of beautiful music and good cheer.

At the last, he was unable to walk and do the things he liked to do. But he llved life as best he could, with a dignity that was the hallmark of the man he was.

In a 2011 interview he said, “It is worth remembering that a lot of people see nothing but misery their whole lives. So, by any measure, most of us in this country, especially rock stars like me, are very lucky. That’s why I don’t want my funeral to be sad. I want it to be a time to say ‘thanks.’” Ozzy Osbourne

Sharon, who was his manager and his wife of forty plus years was his soul mate. And now she will have to face life without him.

I read an article the other day. It explained how the loss of a loved one can result in a broken heart. Sharon Osbourne centered her life around her husband. She, too, is beloved, by fans, her family and the public in general.

All we can do is pray for both of these unique people, altough I believe her heart must be broken in two.

Hang tough.
