It's a sad state of events, but the Dollar Store is dead. The inflation that they say isn't happening has been a spring board for suppliers of all kinds. Grocery stores raise prices to what we used to call, "They charge that in Europe???" But now we have it here.

If this keeps up, New York City mayoral candidate Mamdani will make it worse. He wants to put grocery stores under government control. His ideas could spread, and we will look like Venezuela and Russia. Nothing to buy.

The Dollar Store used to be just that: Goods on sale for a buck. But it has now given up the ghost and raised its prices, so it's just another store. Oh well. We saw Woolworth's go the way of the horse and buggy. Now here we are again. No more Five and Ten Cent Store, and no more Dollar Store.
