It's bad news when it doesn't even register that things are bad. Last week I bought a lipstick, and found I needed an associate to unlock the lipstick case, and then had the retrieved lipstick placed in a locked plastic case to take to check out. In a nice, local CVS, a family member saw a woman leave the store with items taken from the store. The manager and associate stood there and did nothing. The thief simply walked away. It's what is happening.

Crime is exploding, and the most gruesome ones aren't even making front page news. Last week a guy riding the New York subway died, and the corpse rode the train for a good hour at least after time of death. And then the dead body was robbed and sexually assaulted. After death. Dead.

After that Gov. Hochul had an interview where she didn't talk about the dead guy and crime on the subways, but fretted that she couldn't afford eggs -- a month too late, prices are down a little now. And besides, the lady is worth $2 million dollars and makes $260,000 dollars a year.

What a phony. What a disgrace.

So it is really bad news when crimes so heinous that they boggle the mind are committed, which could easily happen to us, because the people in charge want to talk about the price of eggs. A couple of months too late.

Hang tough.
