A hospital in New Jersey has a questionnaire that asks new parents to "identify" their babies as either "Male, Female, Transgender, Gender Queer, or Addional gender category."
It further asks parents to select the word that best describes their infant, "Lesbian or gay, Straight or heterosexual, Self-described (by the baby), or Questioning/Unsure."
The document was created in response to a New Jersey law that sought data on patients in order to ensure better healthcare service by providers.
The legislators passed the bill in 2022, tacking it onto another bill. They were Democrats. This year a Republican discovered how the law was being implemented. "Absurd," New Jersey State Sen.
