Weaving a New Fantasy

"A rose by any other name would smell as sweet."

But Democrats don't think so.

The use of the word "spying" by Attorney General William Barr has left them sputtering in indignation.

Last week the attorney general said the "s" word when appearing before the Senate Appropriations Committee.

Barr told the Committee that he was reviewing whether federal authorities had improperly spied on President Trump's campaign.

"Spying on a campaign is a big deal," Barr said.

"I think spying did occur. The question is whether it was adequately predicated. I'm not suggesting it wasn't adequately predicated, but I need to explore."

Barr also said he didn't understand why the Trump campaign was not notified about the counterintelligence investigation opened up by the FBI. He said if he had been attorney general, he would have.

Democrats were perplexed. They felt they didn't deserve this.

"Do you want to rephrase what you're doing?" Sen. Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii) asked shrilly, "because I think the word 'spying' could cause everybody in the cable news ecosystem to freak out."

The spying thing he could get over.

"I think it's necessary for you to be frank in your language here," Schatz urged.

Translated: "Take out the 'spy' word, Dude." After all, how could Democrats explain that word to the mainstream media?

Former FBI Director James Comey couldn't.

"I don't know what he's talking about when he talks about spying on the campaign," Comey said, at a Hewlett Foundation conference last week.

"It's very concerning because the FBI, the Department of Justice conduct court-ordered electronic surveillance. I have never thought of that as 'spying.'"

Although that's what the Intelligence Community does.

The answer is that they have to vilify the new attorney general. Accuse him of pandering to the president. And denigrate Special Counsel Robert Mueller and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, both of whom had formerly been heroes to the Liberal Left.

They were the ones whom Liberals thought were going to help get rid of Donald Trump. But when they didn't, they were no longer useful, especially since Mueller and Rosenstein were working hand in glove with Barr.

How do you explain that? It was an inconvenient fact Democrats had to ignore.

The Left have no problem throwing their own under the bus.

Look at how they treated Joe Biden when he had to address his kissy-huggy scandal.

And how Hillary and Wasserman Schultz knocked Bernie out of the 2016 primary.

Now they are attacking Bernie again, for hosting a Town Hall Meeting on Fox News this week, and for doing so well in his 2020 bid for the presidency.

"There's a growing realization that Sanders could end up winning this thing, or stays in so long that he damages the actual winner," Clintonite David Brock said, adding he's had discussions "about an anti-Sanders campaign."

When Democrats are done with you, they're done with you, so demonizing Mueller and Rosenstein isn't a problem for them.

After more than 2 years of being beaten by the Democrats, the "Russia, Russia, Russia Horse" is grateful that he has finally been turned out to pasture.

Russia Collusion is over, but for those who faithfully backed the Deep State coup to get rid of Donald Trump, it isn't. They will have to move to the next ploy to tie up the Trump Administration.

By tying up the Trump Administration. By weaving a new fantasy. With new accusations, all to begin this week, when the redacted Mueller Report is released.

It's said "Good guys finish last," and in view of the significance of Holy Week, that could be seen as true.

People made the mistake of thinking they could destroy Christianity by destroying the Messenger. But yesterday, in the smoldering ruins of Notre Dame Cathedral, in the dimness of the church, a gold cross, above the alter, survived.

Just as it did at Ground Zero. It always does.

So don't count Donald Trump and William Barr out. While Democrats are trying to block them, and destroy them, these Good Guys will be there, taking care of this country's best interests.

Just like the cross in the cathedral.

Hold the line, America.
