Great trends have always started in California, then moved across the country. Fashion, food, health.
Today other trends are migrating west, but not in a good way.
What you see in the Golden State today would make a grown man cry.
Homelessness, drug abuse and unchecked crime have spread across the country, and now has expanded to include arson, riots and looting.
"After one of the primary debates in late 2019, I drove to San Francisco," Hoover Institute Fellow Victor Davis Hanson wrote in National Review.
"On checking into the hotel, I was reminded by the doorman of the city's Third World protocols.
1.). Do not park your car on the street, because it most surely have its windows smashed and its contents stolen, and the police will either not respond if called, or the city would not prosecute the criminal if arrested.
2.). Check the soles of your shoes before entering the hotel lobby to ensure that human feces or needle remnants are not stuck to the bottom.
3.) Do not offer food/money help if walking along nearby homeless corridors, given the uncertain and possibly violent reaction that such outreach might incur."
If Joe Biden is elected, what happens in California, won't stay in Californiia.
Americans will get more of what we're seeing in every Democrat-run city, thanks to Social Justice prosecutors, and Socialist mayors and governors. And it won't be a picnic.
California's radical Gov. Newsom plans to hike taxes and impose a wealth tax. He embraces illegal immigrants and open borders, and favors criminals over citizens.
Joe Biden does, too. This is what a Socialist/Democrat future looks like.
In California it's human-enhanced droughts, and power blackouts, as New Green Deal policies are put in place, and the state hosts half the nation's homeless and one-third of its welfare recipients.
In New Jersey, it's Democrat Gov. Murphy cutting property tax reimbursements to seniors, whlle launching $1000 dollar "Baby Bonds," to kids born in 2021 to families earning less than $131,000 dollars.
To buy a house. Or start a business. In the future. He said it was Cory Booker's idea. Yeah, that sounds like Spartacus.
Democrats don't talk about riots in America's streets, because they lead privileged lives, far from the riots. People like Nancy Pelosi. Kamala Harris. And Lunchbucket Joe.
And riots are not allowed to touch the lives of people like Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot. When rioters appeared at Lightfoot's house, she placed heavy police protection at her house.
"Given the threats that I have personally received. Given the threats to my home and my family," Lightfoot said, "I'm gonna' do everything to make sure that they are protected. I make no apologies whatever for that."
I betcha' people whose businesses were destroyed in Chicago's Miracle Mile would have loved to have that kind of protection. After all, it was Lightfoot's job.
But no Progressive ever apologizes, or does their job. And every last one of them break the Coronavirus rules they impose on others. Like Michigan Gov. Whitmer who marched shoulder to shoulder, without social distancing, with protesters.
Years ago, California used to export Beauty, in its movies, from entertainers we loved to see perform, entertainers who loved America.
After the First Lady's Convention speech last night, Bette Midler exported the hatred that has become synonymous with people like her and the entertainment industry.
"She can speak several words in a few languages. Get that illegal alien off the stage," Midler tweeted, as a member of the Party which boasts about its compassion. Its diversity. Its love of immigrants.
Just not "immigrant" Melania Trump.
Rob "Meathead" Reiner tweeted, "Because the President is Incompetent, 180,000 Americans are dead," stupidly blaming Trump, not China, for the Chinese Coronavirus.
Actor Jim Carrey produced another of his gruesome paintings, insulting Trump supporters, depicting a tearful man, breathing from a ventilator and wearing a red hat with the words, "Make America Die For Him" on it.
And last weekend New York Times reporter, Kurt Eichenwald tore in Melania for renovating the Rose Garden.
"It is a destruction of our history, something no other First Lady would have had the gall to do," Eichenwald bawled. "That is the first time I have been furious that FLOTUS is a foreigner. She has no right to wreck our history."
Wrong, dumbbell. That privilege has been reserved for the thugs who mindlessly destroy monuments and statues for Democrats, erasing our history.
And if you did your research, Kurt, you'd have found that our First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy had the gall to totally renovate the White House.
Dumbbell.
It's actually sad the way privileged Leftists act, but let's face it, that's all they have. They know that the presidential candidates they chose are the bottom of the barrel.
Will all of this end? Victor Davis Hanson says it won't.
"Not until Nancy Pelosi's Napa Valley estate is without power and her boutique ice cream collections all melt."
And "Not until Barbra Streisand gets a recording when she calls 911 after her seaside estate is beseiged."
Then they will see how special they really aren't.
