Just to see him, brings tears to your eyes.

John Madden passed away yesterday, and there is a sad, but happily reflective response from all who speak about him.

Unique as a professional who managed to be unique by just being himself, Madden had a strong influence on the NFL as a coach, but perhaps more on the world of sports broadcasting.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid died this week, as well, from pancreatic cancer.

Reid was no angel. But even though he used some pretty dirty tricks during his days in Congress, decent people do not speak ill of the dead. Unlike people like Bette Midler, Joy Behar and Kathy Griffin, conservatives do not rejoice at another's tragedies.

God bless these men, mind-stickers both.
