Soldiers who served their country and drank the water at Camp Lejeune were poisoned. Those in charge admitted they knew it was happening, and now those soldiers and their families are eligible to be compensated.

How do you compensate those people who drank and bathed in chemicals used for cleaning metal parts, in dry cleaning and in making plastics? Tetrachloroethylene, vinyl chloride and benzene. It's easy. You don't. At least not quickly. The government can find January 6 "rioters"  quickly, but cannot process the claims of these people. It's just too tough for them.

It's an old story. It took nearly a decade after the Vietnam War to pass the Veterans' Dioxin and Radiation Exposure Compensation Standards Act. Before that the government claimed it didn't know the effect Agent Orange had on the men who were exposted to it.

After 9/ll, people praised First Respnoders, until they started falling ill from cancer and other diseases from what went into the air on that day and afterwards. The air the EPA said was safe.

During a 9/11 compensation hearing, many lawmakers did not show up.

"Behind me, a filled room of 9/11 first responders, and in front of me, a nearly empty Congress,"  Jon Stewart testified. "Sick and dying, they brought themselves down here to speak to no one," he said.

It's the same thing in North Palestine, Ohio. Ask Joe and Pete.

Hang tough.
