Prof. Dershowitz has always defended the Rule of Law, regardless of where it took him politically. It's admirable. But the contradictions he presents are upsetting. 

This week the professor wrote an open letter to Barack Obama, castigating him for his comments calling for an end to Israeli "occupation." He says he'll never speak to Obama again.

But he voted for Obama. And he says Joe is in bad shape mentally. But says he'll vote for him. That's the contradiction.

"I think he always had a deep hatred of Israel in his heart. He hid it very well. (No. He didn't.) He called me to the Oval Office and he said to me, 'Alan. You've known me for a long time. You know I have Israel's back.' I didn't realize he meant to paint a target on it," Dershowitz said on Mornings with Maria.

He didn't know who Obama was? I find that difficult to believe unless you're eager to keep your buddies on Martha's Vineyard. But at age 85, Dershowitz should know better.

Hang tough.
