I wonder why Walgreens hauled out of Rep. Ayanna Pressley’s (D-MA) district? Could it be because Walgreens is a business and shoplifters are robbing Walgreens blind?

No, Pressley said on the House floor on January 30. It's because the company is racist.

"These closures are not arbitrary and they are not innocent," Pressley accused. "They are life-threatening acts of racial and economic discrimination."

"Why was there no community input? No adequate notice to customers?" (Is she kidding?)

"Shame on you, Walgreens," Pressley said. "Walgreens is a multi-billion-dollar corporation that needs to put their money where their mouth is and stop divesting from black and brown communities."

No, Madam Congresswoman. They don't. In this country, it's called Capitalism. And businesses, under Capitalism, are in business to provide a service and make a profit.

Your job, Congresswoman, is to make the constituents and businesses in your district safe so that companies like Walgreens don't have to close their doors.

That's in your job description, should you decide to do your job.

Hang tough.
